          I purchased this item two years ago (it still works great)to help me out in the kitchen around the holidays and compensate for a neurological condition that affects my arms/hands. At first glance, it seemed flimsy but it worked well. I use it for potatoes and cucumbers. It accepts a variety of sizes and shapes. I like the fact that it cuts very thin so there is less waste. If you need to clean the blade part, you can carefully slip it out and clean and then put back in-just remember how you took it out. You will still have to cut the tops and bottoms of potatoes but it gets about 90% of it peeled.

          Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

              I have personally owned one of these for several years. I have carpel tunnel and this is an incredible small electric appliance. It is a time saving and wrist saving item.
