The finishing touch. A new focal point. An illusion of space and light ... Choosing the right window treatment can be a simple and easy way to create a mood or style perfect for your home and bring beauty and harmony to any room. |
 |
There are several things to consider when choosing the best look for your windows:
• Is privacy important to you? Is light? Decide how much of each is right for you. If you’re planning to create an intimate feeling, you may want to choose a treatment that diffuses the light. If you love light and a feeling of space, you may prefer a treatment that maximizes light.
• What style complements your room the best? As with furnishings, window treatments can reflect your personal style. Are you traditional, more modern, or casual? Once you decide, it will make choosing the right window treatments easy! |
 |
 |
Classic and timeless are defining characteristics of traditional style. Dark woods, rich fabrics, such as damask or jacquards, and Persian carpets are all elements of this style. Decorative top treatments, such as a scarf valance, bring added depth to traditional window treatments.
If traditional is your style, we recommend our Versailles Jacquard Panels or Diamonds Window Set. Our Faux Wood Blinds are classic as well, especially in dark, rich tones.
If you prefer a soft, flowing look, choose our iridescent Ombre Rod Pocket Collection. Subtle tones play off its crinkled texture to create a dream-like effect. |

Clean, simple looks with a dash of color are what define the new modern in home furnishings. It’s easy to achieve — and very much today — with our wide variety of options in different fabrications.
Our Faux Suede Collection, or our 100% Cotton Canvas Collection are available in the season’s trendiest colors and hottest rod treatment: grommets!
All for a look that’s totally modern. |

Simplicity. Easy care. Comfort. These are the elements that define and add to a casual look. Colors play an important role as well, creating a a welcoming space.
For a more casual approach, look to the relaxed style of our Scenario™ Sheer Voile Panels layered in a single color or in complementary hues.
Our Metro Crushed Taffeta Panels & Valance drape beautifully for a look that’s chic, sophisticated and easy. |
|
And don’t forget ...
• Be sure to size the treatment to the window.
Since curtains and draperies have the ability to change the look of your windows, it may be helpful to think of them as frames and your windows as pictures. Make sure a treatment doesn’t overpower the window, but sets it off to its maximum advantage.
• Be sure to size the treatment to the room.
Balance is key when selecting the size of a window treatment. In general, curtains should fall just below the sill or all the way to the floor to create the right balance.

| You’ve probably seen some of these ideas on Home Design shows on TV — window treatments that are used to hide a multitude of sins in a room. For instance ... |
Trick #1
Enlarge a Small Window
If you have a narrow set of windows in a room, you can widen their look (and make your room look bigger) by extending the treatment beyond the width of the window. How far? As far as you like! There are no hard and fast rules here.
Trick #2
Make Ceilings Look Higher
To make a room seem larger, buy longer panels and place rods and a valance higher than the window, nearer your ceiling. You’ll be amazed at how much bigger your room seems.
Trick #3
Reduce the Size of a Large or Wide Room
To make a large room seem cozier, try using horizontal treatments such as blinds or shutters.
Trick #4
Square-up Wide or Boxy Windows
Simply hang narrow, floor-length panels — no wider than the sides of the window itself.
Trick #5
Make Short Windows Look Tall
Just use long curtains on short windows to create the illusion of taller windows.
