i hung these in my bedroom on a sliding glass door. according to the dimentions it should have fit perfectly, it was barely acceptable. my thought is that maybe if i had bought the tab-top style this may not have happened. i dont think that they allowed for the space that the grommets have to weave through the curtain rod.
with that said...they are absolutely beautiful, i must say. i am just thrilled with them. i plan on buying more for other windows. the price is great for what you are getting.

I bought these for my living only for their design but I also suggested them to a client. He was thrilled but they are very heavy and do not open and close smoothly in the least. It may be that they need to be worn in some since the bamboo is of high grade and the suade around all sides just adds to the weight. Within one day, the end brackets ripped out of the wall so, now I must replace all the custom dowel rods and brackets for the client at my own cost. They are beautiful but they only filter the light (which is what my client wanted). VERY HEAVY

Used these in my great room - they look great! Always wanted to try the grommet-style and they were so easy to hang; the only thing is if you use one valence per window you'll be ok; but if you need to put a little extra to another window you can't split the valence because it won't fit under the support holder - if I had ordered tab-tops I could've done this; but I wanted the grommet-style so all I needed to do was order another extra valance. I am very pleased.......I may do this style in another room! Very classy and sleek looking - let's some light in so it doesn't close your room in. Very pleased.

These Bamboo Panels look great! I put them in a downstairs family room. This room has one wall that is all glass with one huge sliding glass door. On the other side of the glass wall is a hot tub and a sauna. I needed something to separate these rooms yet it lets a little light in from either room. Construction was better than I expected, actually, it was very good. Don't wait to purchase this item. They may be on back order before you know it!

LOVE these! the color is perfect in my earth-tone house. I've had several compliments on them since we hung them. The only con I have is that the panels only come in 2 standard sizes, and aren't really long enough for my patio door. I improvised and hung them about just above the door, but half way in the middle of the transom window. It actually looks fine, but would have preferred a longer length. Other than that, they are a great buy and very sturdy.

I bought these for the sliding glass doors to the patio. I have a log home and I appreciate the rustic natural look of these. I am going to get them for my kitchen as well.

You need a good strong rod to hang these and they need to be a bit away from the doors to open and close easily. I expect them to last many years.

They can look rustic, but they would also look nice is a smooth modern room.

I purchased four of these panels to cover two windows and the sliding glass door of my kitchen's bay. They look terrific and seem to be very well made. They are not very heavy, but not really light either--requires a sturdy rod. Very easy to hang once I installed the panel rods. Allows some light through so perhaps not the best option for privacy during the evening, but provides some. For the price, these were an excellent purchase.

I had verticals blinds on my sliding glass door but my dogs would always get tangled up in them and would end up breaking the slats and then finally the track. I tried these panels and found they work great! They look so rich and match the decor of my room. And best of all, the dogs are not ruining them. The panels are somewhat sun filtering - they let in just enough light yet offer privacy. I am also very pleased that they are made from Bamboo since I am concerned about the environment and feel good about using a renewable product. I would highly recommend these panels.

Everyone who visits my home loves theses and so do I. The panels are high qualtity and hang perfectly. You can see thru them so in the living room I put a light weight drape behind them. The shades had two different types of hangers. One had the metal rings and one had the cloth loops. I ordered two with metal rings.

I'm very impressed with the quality of these panels. They are heavy and well-made. Just be sure you have adequate rods! They do an excellent job of cutting the heat from the sun while still providing visibility outside. They move easily on the rod to allow opening on sliding glass doors. I've ordered the tiered cafe curtains for my kitchen but they're backordered. Really looking forward to see how they look. Got to say this is my most satisfactory purchase overall in years!

I put the panels on our sliding glass doors in the kitchen, facing east. They filter out light and heat in the mornings, while still allowing us to see the back yard and deck. I love them. I have cherry cabinets, and chose the mahogany brown color. They are perfect!

They are slightly cumbersome to hang because they are very rigid, but it is fantastic once they are up. I recommend a high quality curtain rod because they are heavy.

I hung thses in my living room and just love them. They block the light, but I believe people can still see figures and shapes from outside...not completely private. Love these curtains! I hung them in my dining room window and they look really nice. They filter out the sun really well. They are a really good price too! great product. using it for sliding patio doors in our living room. purchased additional drapes for privacy at night because when lights are on because neighbors can see through. All townhome units in our community have white vertical blinds. I could no longer stand them. they are easy to open and a little bit harder to close, but makes the room so much nicer than vertical blinds.

I bought the panels and now I ordered the valances. It made a big difference with the light filtering through. The sun is so strong in the afternoon that you could not sit in that room, it was blinding. Live in Florida and it is always sunny and by putting up the panels, my A/C bill should be reduced.

These curtains are beautiful. I wanted a beach look to my home and these curtains give me a very elegant beach theme that I just love. The quality is exceptional. One thing they are heavy and you need to make sure your curtain rod is tight in the wall. I learned that when mine came out. But when they are finally up they are just perfect.

Great Value - I work for a big box retailer in their catalog department and it sells a similar product at more than twice the price. I purchased both the natural set & the walnut colored set, from Brylane Home, for my teen+ son's bedrooms. I purchased the shorter length for the windows and had no problem hanging them. They have open added closets and I purchased the longer curtains for their "doors". NOTE: When hanging more than 1 of the long curtains it is best to have the rod anchored in a wall joist if available. They are pretty heavy. I did have the rod come down on one end after the first day because I missed the edge of the 2X4 by about an eighth of an inch - once moved there has been no problem. They really perk up their rooms and are very masculine as well.

I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a tab top version here as well. I purchased them in Mahogony color for my bedroom sliding glass doors and I absolutely love them. I put the Bamboo Grommet Panels in my office at home. They add the perfect touch to that room and they would also be great for a living room or dining room. I would recommend buying a curtain rod after you receive the panels to measure for the correct size rod, you will also need a curtain rod that you can romove the end to install the panels. Absolutely beautiful! I purchased the valance for my kitchen window. It's higher quality than I expected (never having any experience with bamboo). The lovely secret is that you can reverse sides. One side is the normal golden bamboo a subtle brown texture. The other side has beautiful shades of green with darker brown hues. (Personally I used the green side because of the richer detail.) It's boarder is almost a suede texture and very rich. Even the grommets add a nice touch (since I hung the valance in my kitchen window, I couldn't find a thicker rod that short. I ended up with a silver spring rod with decorative edge circles on the ends.) Overall, I don't think you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for something a little different, this is it. Remember that the bamboo is stiffer than fabric but it drapes and folds in all the right places. We actually ordered a second valance for a fuller look. Now that we've gotten a taste for bamboo and like it, we ordered three clearanced bamboo kitchen rugs from an outlet store online. We also found a darling bamboo plant in a hip ceramic vase on sale for [$]. I hope we like the rugs when they arrive. We transformed our kitchen for under a $100. Bargin shopping hasn't felt this good in a long time. :)

This was used to complete a Florida "jungle room" (I thought I saw Elvis sitting there) and a more eclectic look in a bedroom. Excellent addition all the way around. Not privacy curtains but statement curtains and do minimize bright sunshine. Perfectly balanced. But loose the little Made in China sticky circle. It was hard to remove and left debris or spots.

The only issue was that they didn't keep out enough light for the bedroom. However, I purchased grommet sheer panels that were the same size and hung them behind them, blocking out more light and still keeping the look.[...]

Go with BROWN _BROWN. It's rich-looking. Also, get a heavy duty rod, there is some weight here.

I love these panels and my lady-friend likes them, too. They were easy to hang and look fabulous. They're fairly transparent. If there is more light outside (day time), you see out. If there is more light inside (night time), you can see in. If you're looking for privacy, you would need to add sheers or something else.

Make sure you purchase enough panels. Look at the pictures. Because of the grommet construction, these hang with a back and forth lay - like the middle paper in a corrugated cardboard case. That back and forth takes up a considerable amount of material. I hung these on a 5-foot slider (yes, it's a non-standard width, but it IS 5-feet). So the door opening is 60" and 67" including the moulding around it. I THOUGHT that two 48" panels, 84" total would be enough, but I ended up ordering another panel to give me good coverage and to not look "stretched." Again, it's because the panel hangs with that back and forth pattern on the rod.

A REALLY NICE surprise was how this panel stacks when open. It takes 4 to 5 inches for an entire panel and LESS than twice that for two panels. When I saw that, I decided to move the "middle" rod support off-center, and hang two panels in front of the stationary door (and half the moving one) and then one more panel in front of the remainder of the moving door. I could do that because that single panel stacks into 4 or 5 inches when I push it towards the open side.

Anyway, I just ordered several more panels for another wide slider door. Really pleased and highly recommended.

I have been looking for something different for my living room windows for a long time. I have 2 very large and 2 medium size windows. My decor is earthtone southwestern. I didn't want drapes as I felt they would be too heavy and they get dirty. My windows are an "off" size so shades, blinds, shutters etc would have been cost prohibitive. I ordered these with very high expectations after reading such great reviews. I was not disappointed. They are really nice. My sister and I hung all 4 easily in one afternoon. (I did need 12 panels) I bought some great rods [...]that have some stainless on them to go with the grommets. They look wonderful, have received many compliments and am extremely happy with them. I am not sure about the privacy aspect. Have not checked from the outside and night, but don't care in my living room. I'll be keeping these for a while. A good vacuum will clean the shades. Plus, the one side of the bamboo is speckled and adds visual interest to a plain wall.

I love the look but had to add some sueded panels because of the transparency.
