It works good when you want to keep blocks of cheese on hand, for party's or snacks. It is handy because of the slicing blade included.There is no need to get a knife when you have the slicing blade. Unless you want smaller pieces. Other words it is a good choice when you want something to keep blocks of cheese when you want it.

This is a great cheese slicer for hard cheeses like cheddar, however for softer cheeses like mozarella or even a velveeta style cheese this is not a good choice. The cheese will not slice evenly for the soft cheeses. the cover does not seal efficently for soft cheeses either. Don't ask me why it seals well for hard cheese but not soft cheese but it doesn't. However to use cheddar and colby and muentser style cheese this is a great cutter/storage.

It works okay for a shorter block of cheese, but I a longer block of cheese like the Veleeva block of cheese it is too short. Have to take it out of the box and back into the box before it will fit.

I love this product. I have always had trouble getting even slices of bulk cheese. With this cheese keeper/slicer I can make the slices as thick or thin as I want and have them come out perfect every time. The keeper is also air tight and I don't have to worry about the block drying out, or fighting plastic bags to get it out to slice.

So far it has worked just fine. Put in a 2 lb block of cheese and it still seems to be fresh without any mold. Only had the product about a week, but it seems to be working just fine.
