I've been looking for this set for a while now, and was so glad to find it on Brylane's website. I don't like storing my knives on a block, because the tips poke out the bottom and it takes up a lot of counter space. I read a recommendation for the Lamsonsharp knife safe in Alton Brown's kitchen gear book, and am very glad I followed his suggestion. These protect the knife's blade, as well as my hands while rummaging around in a drawer, and these don't take up much space. My only wish is that they came in a wider variety of sizes. I have a 5" santoku that is too wide for the 5" knife safe, so I have to use a much larger one to accommodate it. Apart from that, I would recommend this simple yet elegant solution to anyone looking for a way to store their knives.
