One of the reviewers mentions you can use a laptop on it, but the laptop actually caused it to bow quite a bit in the middle. The edges are rather "sharp" as well. On a positive note it works fine when sitting in bed with only a keyboard and mouse or paperwork on the surface. The one I bought for my sisters to use in their chair with their laptop they are using on top of an existing tray table for the extended length from side to side.

Is really handy to get some work done while watching TV, or relaxing. Would be nice if it had a pillow attached on the bottem, but I just put one on my lap and it works fine. My daughter also got one because she thought it was so handy to use.

Perfect for use while confined to a chair after surgery. Can eat, do puzzles or projects, do paperwork, etc. Only complaints: It could be thicker so it sits higher - still have to hold things higher in my hands. Also, because of the size and not being foldable, it's a little harder to "set aside" when not in use. But we both love it - I ordered a pair for my husband and me.

I use the lap tray for my laptop. My friend had an motorcycle accident and I gave him mine to use with his laptop and for meals while he was unable to walk, it worked great. I gave one to my husband and son for Christmas

Wondeful item, so many uses, My mom uses it almost for everything for her hcrafts are easier to reach, holding tv remote, glass of water , etc. Now we cant do without it. Plan on buying a couple more for everyone at home. It is easier than carrying a big table, so much more confortable. Happy New Year!!!

Works great. Use it for crocheting. It takes the weight of the yarn and blanket off of my arms and back. Wish it was made higher on the top end to make it slant a little towards your body.

This lap desk is perfect for my son. He likes to sit in a recylining chair (not at a desk) while doing his homework. the lap desk is wide enough to fit over the arms of a recyliner chair. He is able to place a book to his left and still have writing room on his right. He is very happy I bought this.

It holds my 17" laptop and gives me room to write as well. When I am done it is easy to stow away. It is surely large enough to use as a craft board as well. Other laptop boards cost[$]and do not have the width for a 17"

It your chair is wider than usual it needs to be reinforced so it won't bend in the middle. Still I like it. I have a handy man who can reinforce it for me.

This is a great item! I use it all the time. It fits across my recliner just perfectly and I am able to sit there and read, write, pay bills, read the newspaper, etc. conveniently in my lap using this board. This is a fantastic item and I would highly recommend it!

We use this a lot as a platform for the laptops in our home- whether people are working or playing games, this lap desk is in constant demand.
I also find it very helpful when I am organizing my monthly bills. I grab a cup of coffee, my bills and the rest of my supplies and go sit in my easy chair.
The only down side to this lap desk is that it is awkward to maneuver yourself out from under it in a hurry if you have to get up for any reason. (Answer the door etc)

I wish the table was another 6 inches long because I feel like it will move and end up in my lap whn I'm using it on my recliner. I like it other than that and I can compensate. So far I really do think this is a good product.

This is a 3/8th inch piece of pressed fiber board with a woodgrain look laminate top. It has a curved hole in each end. It isn't long enough to fit across the arms of my recliner but I can balance it or put a pillow under it. Works well as a makeshift desk. I usually do bills or write letters from the chair and now I have a larger workspace. The rubber bands are helpful. If I need to get up, I slip all papers/pens (and whatever else, like the remote control) under the band and set the board aside. It can be placed side edge down and the papers don't move. The board is not super sturdy but I think the laminate top would hold up to a hard writing pen without denting. Overall, even though it is just a board, I find it very helpful.

I am always working on my laptop or doing paperwork (balancing my checkbook, filling out forms, etc.) in my bedroom where I have no desk or suitable writing surface, so I thought this lap desk would suit my needs perfectly and I was right. I can comfortably sit on my bed and work on my laptop without it overheating and burning my legs, and doing paperwork is no longer a chore anymore because I don't have to go searching for a good writing surface. I just keep the lap desk handy and I get all of my "desk tasks" done with ease. I would definitely recommend this product to others.

when I sit in my livingroom I like to pull out the laptop desk and use it to keep my bills all in one place. It makes staying organized so much easier then looking from one pile to another. I also use it often when I am on my laptop. It is sturdy and makes a great base on my lap either with arms on the chair or not.

I work from home and sitting up at my desk all day can hurt my back. Now, I put my key board on the lap desk and put my feet up on the desk. This takes the pressure off of my back. I also have a laptop that I can place on the lap desk when I'm watching TV. This little desk has become a little miricle for me. I would sincerely suggest it for anyone...and you can't beat the price!
