I have always been pleased with Brylane's products which is why I was so disappointed when the first 2 umbrellas were dilivered broken. I bought this umbrella on price alone and shouldn't have been surprised that it isn't the equivalent of more expensive ones I own. I never thought about how it would raise and found it difficult since I am used to a handle to wind. But you get what you pay for and this was very reasonably priced.

If you're unable to provide the stand with umbrella purchase, then please, advise the manufacturer to make the end of the pole spiked for ease of optional usage without or with the stand.
It would be very advantageous to add a waterproof slip cover to transport the umbrella & pole and a big plus in the overall rating of this product.

The only thing I do not like about this umbrella is that it does not have a way to wrap the umbrella when it is closed...it would be nice to have a velcro strap to wrap around the umbrella to keep it closed.

We use this umbrella in the afternoon when our patio gets the direct sun. It works very well in blocking the rays and keeping off a light sprinkle or two.
It needs a better base to come with it and it would be perfect !

This is a great umbrella! I've had it for over 2 months, and not one tear or rip. The color is just lovely, and it was so easy to put together-just two pieces that screw together and you're done. The wood and brass are very classy looking, and the wood spines look very resort-like. You just can't find a better umbrella for this price! I looked all over the web and couldn't find anything with such high reviews at this price. We always put the umbrella down when large storms come, so I can't tell you how it is in a strong downpour-we haven't tested that. Great item!

Umbrella looks great on deck and provides good sun coverage.
Should come with instructions as it took me a while to figure out
how to open and close and keep it in place. Once this is figured out,

Loved the overall look of the umbrella. Mechanism to raise and lower umbrella works nice. But I found that the lower portion of the wooden pole cracked with days of using it. Still using it, but don't know for how long it will last.

I purchased this umbrella to provide some shade on my deck. It was easy to set up (had to buy the base separately) and is very simple to open and close. It's a nice looking umbrella and seems to be a decent quality product. Since it's new, I'm not sure how durable it is - time will tell.

I was looking everywhere for an umbrella of good quality that wasn't overpriced and this seemed perfect. The quality is much better than the cheap ones that normally come with a patio set. The color is great and it is the perfect size. [$]! I suppose we pay for the convenience of ordering online and being able to make payments and I know I could have returned it but I decided to keep it anyway. Other than the price, I really have no complaints! It's a great umbrella and it looks beautiful on my back deck.
