I put the umbrella in a fairly heavy stand; however, a big gust of wind blew it over and one of the ribs broke. My husband was able to repair it for me. For the price, you just can't beat this umbrella. It really is very nice. I would purchase again.

Bought two last year. I bought Taupe because I was afraid of fading. I bought Green from somewhere else in the past and they faded terribly. Taupe faded very little. I stored it leaning against the wall all winter and wood warped, but I am rebuying them this year because they were a great buy. I will store flat this winter.

After returning 3 11' umbrellas I purchased locally due to very poor quality, I looked online for affordable umbrellas. I ordered three of these 9' umbrellas, in blue, from Brylane and am very pleased with them. One shades our patio table, and the other two are in stands on the pool decking. The color is a beautiful blue, and although I read reviews saying they fade by the end of summer, I don't think I'll mind a lighter color. They are NOT flimsy and the poles are thin enough to fit in tables and stands easily. (I've had trouble with thick poles not fitting in the hole in patio tables before...) We haven't had wind or rain yet, so can't attest to their endurance under these conditions... However, I usually lower my umbrellas when a big wind comes up... just makes good sense. I really like these, and know that they are a great deal for the money!

If you're unable to provide the stand with umbrella purchase, then please, advise the manufacturer to make the end of the pole spiked for ease of optional usage without or with the stand.

It would be very advantageous to add a waterproof slip cover to transport the umbrella & pole and a big plus in the overall rating of this product.

This is a great umbrella! I've had it for over 2 months, and not one tear or rip. The color is just lovely, and it was so easy to put together-just two pieces that screw together and you're done. The wood and brass are very classy looking, and the wood spines look very resort-like. You just can't find a better umbrella for this price! I looked all over the web and couldn't find anything with such high reviews at this price. We always put the umbrella down when large storms come, so I can't tell you how it is in a strong downpour-we haven't tested that. Great item!

I was looking everywhere for an umbrella of good quality that wasn't overpriced and this seemed perfect. The quality is much better than the cheap ones that normally come with a patio set.
