It's so thin I chose to keep my bath rug underneath and keep this over the side of the tub when not in use. I look for cushioning because my feet have issues and this is nice, but really not as thick as I expected. I believe it will be durable and last through many machine washings.

It absorbs fine for me but my husband leaves lots of water when he gets out of the shower. If he showers before I do the rug is soaked where he stepped. It holds water though so the floor isn't soaked.

I bought this rug to replace an ancient braided rug I used to catch dirt from the kitchen before walking onto my off white carpet. The colors are just as beautiful as in the picture and I love how soft it is on bare feet. (Braided rugs, while durable, are NOT soft to the bare foot!)
I have also just purchased some other new rugs from a different on line retailer and they are not as thick and soft as this one. I am very pleased! In fact, I am plotting where I can use another one or two of these very same rugs in my house!

This rug is a really soft shower mat. It really feels good to step on this when getting out of the shower or bath. It's pretty good at soaking up the water from the bottom of your feet. I like to walk around in my bathroom after a shower, or bath and this feature will prevent slipping.

My wife and I got this rug to combat a leaking shower area. This Rug really works well to combat water building up on the floor and offers a skid free, safe area to step out to.
My only slight concern with this rug is that because it can soak up water so well, one has to let it sun dry after a few days use to get it back to a totally dry state. Not really the rugs fault, as that's what it was designed to do.

This is a wonderful product...the only negative is it is too thin..but it is soft, absorbs great and it stays put. A little on the stiff side, making it harder to wash the large one. Overall...I love it.

I purchased this rug to place in front of my shower. I was looking for something that would hold the water and leave the floor under it dry. This rug doesn't do that at all. The backing is not water-proof. It is very small so it doesn't cover alot of surface area. For the positives, it is very soft and comfortable. I love that it is lightweight and easy to wash. For the price, it should work alot better than it does. I was going to purchase another one, but have decided not to.

I was hesitant to order this at first, mostly because of the number of rugs we've gone through that just didn't measure up. And I've learned price isn't always a guarantee of quality. However, I am SO pleased with this rug! And my husband - who is very particular about quality and feel - is equally impressed. I am glad I purchased it in both sizes. We have one for the shower and one for the tub. My 1 year old son loves the feel of it on his little footsies after his bath. My only complaint would be...I wish it came in other colors so I could match it to the decor in our other bathrooms. I haven't washed them yet, but I have no doubt they will withstand the test of time and use. Great rug!

This is the best bath mat carpet I have ever had. it absorbs water better than a sponge, yet stays dry under your feet. It is so soft to step on when getting out of the tub or shower. The best thing is the water absorbtion. My family gets out of the tub and drips on the floor, this rug has stopped that, it keeps the floor dry. When they are done I just pick up the rug and put on the side of the tub and it dries in a hour. I highly recommend this mat rug for any bathroom.

My husband has a bad habit of stepping out of the shower without drying his feet so water would be everywhere and the bathroom rug would be soaked. After buying this mat I never have to feel wet rug under my feet, or worry about slipping on the exposed tile!! The mat soaks up the water almost immediately and dries quickly. I even bought a second one for in front of the tub!

It's quite thin that you really feel the hardness of the floor (even the coldness of the tiles!). It's definitely not "like stepping onto a velvety-soft cloud!".
It's absorbent enough and dries in a reasonable amount of time.

Yes it is absorbant if you take a shower and it has time to dry a little in between. But not when you do multiple showers, back to back to back. You really feel the wetness. But the floor below it does stay dry.

I almost fell getting out of the shower using my terry cloth shower mat. I wanted something non-skid I would feel safe with. I found it. It is so absorbent it never drips. I hang it over the shower doors to dry and it is dry every morning after my husband and I both used it the day before. My husband loves the large size. I wish there were color choices but at least it doesn't clash with my colors. Highly recommend if you are looking for a safe shower mat. Immensely soft, too.

I bought this mat to put next to my bathtub as anyone who uses my bathtub tub always gets water on the floor. I had tried other mats but they never worked. I had high hopes for this mat and was not disappointed. It is fantastic. Water is soaked in it but not through it to the floor. I take it off the floor and lay it over the side of the tub to dry. It dries fast. I wish this mat was a little bigger, but very happy with it. I recommend it, it will save your floor!

I am a bargain hunter, so it was difficult to spend this much money on this product. I bought the large one for our large full bathroom upstairs and the small for the smaller full downstairs. I'm the only one to use the downstairs shower, and it does it's job. But upstairs, the mat does NOT wick away the wetness when my daughter gets out of the shower (she hasn't learned to dry herself some before getting out). Even downstairs for me, the claim that this is like stepping out onto a velvety cloud is an exaggeration. It is soft, but I don't have the same feelings about the product as the reviews and description. Maybe if they weren't so expensive, I'd be a lot happier with them.

I plan to give as housewarming gifts.

The mat itself is ok, could come in different colors but neutral is fine too. I didn't think the description was apt because ours got soaked through and through and didn't dry out fast. But we have 3 boys so maybe the description was meant for normal usage. non-slippery back is a plus. tried washing yesterday with other such items, this rug seemed to hold on to the soapy stuff so I found necessary to put through rinse again. Maybe because it absorbs so well? not too bad though, worth trying as long as our boys aren't around.
